About:
Our first team for the 2019-20 season to complete community service and what a great job they did. Two children that have been effected by the disease ( FA-Friedreich’s Ataxia) are siblings of one of the players on the 16U JR Islanders. This is a neuromuscular disease that has left his sister in a wheelchair and now his brother is having difficulty walking.
The Capri Family holds an annual skate at Northwell and invites Islander and Ranger Alumni and their Family to have a hockey friendly game. They auction off basket and raffles etc… to help raise fund to go to research for the disease. Our team put together a Spider Bite Beer Basket and a Giant Lotto/Scratch off board valued at $150.00 each.
The boys participated by selling raffles, 50/50, helping out in any way they could and more importantly showing their team mate and family we are here to support you! As an organization we are so proud of all of our players that go out and give back to our community! Great job to all the players and parents for taking the time and putting it into making this event successful! #palicehockey1920
