About:

To fundraise for the National Breast Cancer Foundation, the Cooperstown Girls Varsity Volleyball team created a website for online donations and scheduled a Pink Night game to be played against Stockbridge’s Varsity Volleyball Team. At the door of the event, we had pink necklaces and bracelets available for all, and raffle tickets for sale for various baskets local businesses and people donated. During the game, we talked a little about the search for a cure and then turned off all the lights in the gym and handed out pink glow sticks to all the players and people surrounding the court. Both teams wore pink shirts and decorated their hair with pink ribbon and hairspray. All students and community members were welcome in the gym (mask wearing a must of course) and everyone walking in ended up donating. At the end of the event, we made around $1,185 online and at the event itself, we made around $500, all to be donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
