About:
Although not yet old enough to donate, Minnesauke sixth-grade students , including student athletes, worked to save the lives of many individuals by coordinating a highly successful blood drive this November.
Prior to the event, the students were visited by a member of the New York Blood Center to learn about the importance of blood donations, what blood is made of, and how the donations will benefit individuals.
During the drive, sixth-grade volunteers acted as “little doctors” wearing lab jackets, assisting volunteers with paperwork and providing much-needed post-donation snacks.
A total of 60 individuals registered for the blood drive, and 42 pints were collected.
