Event By: Team Up 4 Community

Event Type: Children & Youth

Sport: Boys Lacrosse

School: Yorktown High School

Date: May 17, 2021

Location:
Yorktown
NY, USA

About:

Typically we have about 20 varsity players at the clinics. They help coach the Kindergarten to First Graders. We had the whole team 35 members there this Sunday.

They help coach the youth on the basics of the game. This is something we have been doing here for a very long time.  Our HS boys were attending these same clinics when our past High school players were running the clinic.
It is great to teach them how to help the young guys and to give back.  That is the theme of our program in that we should always be looking to give back to others what this great game has given us.
Typical non covid years most kids will out in 15-20 hours with the kids.  Some much more as there are winter summer and fall clinics as well to help out at.
They were once these kids.  Lacrosse kids in our town look up to our varsity players not only on the field, but off it.  It is a great way for them to be role models to the next generation passing through Yorktown.
