About:
Youth Helping Heroes at Home
At the Bob Feller Act of Valor Foundation, we believe honoring our veterans goes beyond words, it’s about action. Last year, we took our Run for Life 5K to new heights and we continued that tradition this year. In addition, we will have our inaugural Bob Feller Act of Valor Foundation Golf Outing in May. All proceeds from these events have gone directly to helping veterans and local veteran organizations in our local community.
Most recently, I started a new initiative through the Bob Feller Act of Valor Foundation. Through our Youth Helping Heroes at Home, local youth and teens are stepping up in an incredible way.
Partnering with amazing organizations like The Home Depot Foundation and Vincent’s NYWF Pizza, and other community supporters, us young volunteers are: Completing home repairs
Cleaning up yards and outdoor spaces
Fixing what’s needed to make homes safer and more comfortable
All for the heroes who have given so much for our country and at no cost to them.
This program is more than service, it’s about building respect, leadership, and a deep connection between generations.
I am so proud of our youth volunteers and grateful to our partners for making this impact possible. I am proud to say, we have several other projects lined up in the coming weeks to help veterans in need.
