Frequently Asked Questions
How do I participate in Team Up 4 Community?
www.TeamUp4Community.org is an interactive website where we encourage athletes, teams and organizations to share their community service work and efforts. Athletes are important influential agents of change, not only in schools but in their communities at large. By showcasing the community give back that athletes provide we can inspire more people and organizations to give back.
When visiting the site you can create an account and upload your community service work. All those who participate will have their work added to the grand total that is shown on the homepage of www.TeamUp4Community.org. The Map on the homepage will highlight the community service that all Athletes, Teams and Organizations are contributing. It can be viewable by geographic areas and sport. The website also raises an athletes awareness about HOW and WHY it is important to giveback (visit ACTIVITIES Section ) plus gives ideas about what you can do to contribute to your community (visit the RESOURCES section). www.TeamUp4Community.org encourages greater participation from our youth and creates a sense of feeling good about giving back and being recognized by showcasing your efforts for others to see.

Volunteer Time Valuation
At Team Up 4 Community, we recognize the significant impact volunteers make in their communities. To better understand and quantify the value of volunteer service, we use the official national volunteer rate as reported by Independent Sector. This rate, based on extensive research, reflects the economic value of volunteer time across the United States. The most recent data from the 2025 Value of Volunteer Time Report provides an updated hourly rate that helps us estimate the financial worth of volunteer contributions.
By applying this rate, we’re able to capture the true value of the time, effort, and dedication of volunteers, showcasing the real impact they have in driving positive change across our communities.
It’s important to note that before August 1, 2025, Team Up 4 Community calculated the value of volunteer time based on the federal minimum wage. The transition to the nationally reported volunteer rate allows for a more accurate and nationally consistent reflection of the contributions being made.
For more details on volunteer time valuation, you can refer to the 2025 Value of Volunteer Time Report.
