Skill / Age Level: Born in 2013
Every year for the month of April, our district supports Autism Awareness. We participate in various events to help spread the awareness of Autism. One of the events we participate in, is a walk for the EJ Autism Foundation. This is a foundation that helps spread Autism awareness, as well as helps school districts by donating money, equipment and much more. This year our school, Connetquot Elementary School, raised $107 for the EJ Autism Foundation. On April 7th, we asked each grade level to wear yellow, blue or red and each student to donate a dollar and participate in a social distance friendly walk to help spread Autism Awareness. Bea Peterson is the founder of this foundation and was thrilled to receive the money and to share her experience as a mom of two boys with Autism.
