About:

The Smithtown High School West junior varsity volleyball team recently participated in the JDRF Walk for a Cure at Eisenhower Park, which raises money in the fight against juvenile diabetes. The team walked in honor of Meagan Wilson, a starting libero on the team who has been diagnosed with diabetes. Meagan’s team, titled “Do the Wilson” included her family, friends, teammates and coach Christine Cortopassi and raised more than $1,000. Altogether, the event raised more than $512,000 for juvenile diabetes research. Meagan is pictured here (fifth from the left) along with some of her teammates at the walk.
