The AVCS Wrestling Tournament -Make A Wish fundraiser was held during the Travis Capen Wrestling Tournament. The Patriots raised 1025.00! At the tournament donations came from admission to the event, 50/50 sales and monetary donations. During the tournament 525.00 was raised. A matching donation by a community member was made after the conclusion of the tournament to bring the total donation to $1025.
Many parents and wrestlers helped in concessions admissions and 50/50 sales. the entire tournament and fundraiser was organized and facilitated by parents, coaches and wrestlers. This was a true community event. Additionally, “Make a Wish” was chosen because of the positive impact it has had on some parents from the wrestling community, especially for one parent whose family was positively impacted by “Make a Wish” three separate times. Everyone involved felt this was the perfect charity for the wrestling team to promote and help.
