About:
Communities Kickin’ Cancer is an annual event between the Fabius and Tully communities. This event brings people together for two soccer games. Both girls and boys varsity teams play each other on the night of the event. Before each game, there is a welcoming ceremony where each player dedicates their playing to someone who has battled cancer or is currently battling cancer. T-Shirts are given to each recipient that are signed by the team of the player who is giving the T-Shirt. All of the proceeds from the night, including T-Shirt sales, concession profits, raffles, and games (chuck a duck, etc.) are all donated to Upstate and Golisano Childrens Hospital. This year, our donated money (totaling $15,300) was used to purchase better and easier to move transportable beds for the children who have to move in and out of the hospitals or move to other hospitals frequently. By the end of this event, everyone brings more awareness to cancer, raises money for a great cause, and we all remember those we have lost and pray for those who are still battling.
