About:
On September 28, 2024, Fabius Pompey High School held the annual Communities Kickin’ for Cancer soccer tournament held between our Varsity soccer teams against our rival school, the Tully Black Knights. During the morning, the modified and recreational teams also compete in their own games. These series of games are one of the most popular community events of the year, and for good reason. All of the profits from t-shirt selling, concession sales, raffles, chuck-a-duck, etc. get donated to Upstate Hospital to their cause of choice. Athletes put in time selling apparel, accepting donations, and preparing the field and facilities for the game. In 2023, we raised a total of $16,000, and we were able to upgrade that to $20,000 this year. Before each game, every individual player dedicates their game to a member who has battled or is battling cancer during our ceremony. Awareness is spread, communities are brought together, and money is raised to go towards this significantly important cause.
