About:
Beloved Duxbury resident, mom, past Duxbury Boosters member and Duxbury Football captains’
parent, Jen Quinlan, su;ered a stroke in January 2025. Jen and her husband, Mike, are proud
parents of Emily (DHS Class of 2021) and Colin (DHS Class of 2023). Colin was a captain for the
2022 football season and an important part of an amazing team that made it all the way to Gillette
to win the 2022 Division 4 Super Bowl.
Jen’s stroke led to four months in multiple hospitals and daily physical therapy and rehabilitation
that will be ongoing for a long time.
Journey Forward is a nonprofit that helps individuals with paralysis, spinal cord injuries and other
neurological disorders regain strength, independence and hope through specialized recovery
programs. This organization has been an integral part of Jen’s journey towards recovery and
adapting to her life after a stroke. While the focus of our event is on stroke, people su;ering from
motorcycle, biking, hockey, boating, ATV and skiing accidents also benefit from Journey Forward.
After these unimaginable tragedies, many people do not have the means to pay for the enormous
expense that comes with the necessary care for the best possible outcome.
During the 2025 Duxbury football season, we dedicated a game to stroke awareness and Jen was
our honorary captain, wheeled out to midfield for the coin toss by Coach Landolfi. Jen will once
again be our honorary captain at our 2026 home opener on Friday, September 18th. With
assistance, Jen is planning to walk to midfield for the coin toss. We are so proud of her and the
progress she has made!
The theme for the September 18th home football game is “white out.”
Duxbury Gridiron is selling white Duxbury Football – Journey Forward t-shirts for $25.
All proceeds will be donated to Journey Forward in Jen Quinlan’s honor.
