About:
The East Rockaway Varsity Cheer team recently made a huge impact through their community service initiative by hosting cheerleading clinics for local youth. Divided into two sessions, the clinics were open to students from grades K-3 and grades 4-6, giving young, aspiring cheerleaders the chance to learn from the best.
Throughout the clinics, the Varsity Cheer team taught the fundamentals of cheerleading, including motions, cheers, stunts, and jumps. The young participants had a blast mastering these new skills and soaking in the team spirit. One of the most exciting parts of the experience was getting to watch the Varsity Cheer team perform their routine, which left the kids inspired and in awe.
But the fun didn’t stop there—participants even had the unique opportunity to practice stunting with the Varsity cheerleaders and perform in front of the team. The event was filled with energy, laughter, and plenty of cheer pride, fostering a love for cheerleading in the next generation and strengthening bonds within the community.
