About:
ROOSEVELT, N.Y. (Apr. 27, 2015) – Over the weekend, the LIU Post football team aided Habitat For Humanity in building a new home in the local Long Island town of Roosevelt.
“We have worked previously with Habitat For Humanity and it is a great experience for our players,” said Head Football Coach Bryan Collins (Sayville, N.Y.). “Habitat For Humanity is an exceptional organization and our players were happy to assist in making a beautiful home a reality for a family in need.”
Established in 1992, Habitat For Humanity in Nassau County seeks to address affordable housing needs by providing simple homes for hard-working low-income families. In addition to building new houses, HFHNC seeks to make affordable housing “a matter of conscience.” Habitat homes are built entirely through donations from individuals, schools, religious organizations, foundations and corporations and primarily with volunteer labor.
