About:

As part of the Section III Student-Athlete Advisory Committee we are responsible in for getting our teams involved in the community. For this event three teams from Hannibal CSD were able to team up to raise over $1,000 in supplies for the local animal shelter in Oswego NY. I am part of the Indoor Track and Field Team, we were able to advertise and deliver the supplies to the animal shelter! The JV and Varsity Girls Basketball Team hosted a supply drive night at a home game. Spectators and teammates were encouraged to bring toys, blankets, towels, and food to the game. We invited our friend Buddy to pick a winner for a Hannibal T-Shirt, we through all of our donations in the middle of the court and Buddy picked our winner. Our JV Basketball Coach, Ms. Daley organized a guess the number of Buddy’s treats, one guess for a dollar, we were able to raise over $100. Finally our Modified Boys Wrestling Team got involved and also hosted a supply drive night at one of their home meets. Hannibal Athletics had the awesome chance to get involved in the community, and teams of all types stepped up to the plate. We were able to reach two very special people all the way in Phoenix who donated over 8 bags of toys, leashes, bones, and collars, the Thrifty Sisters Auctions and Treasures. We truly felt unity across the athletic stage. Thank you to everyone who participated and donated, and thank you to the Oswego City Animal Shelter for working with us!
