About:

The Miracle League of Long Island is a baseball league for children with special needs to play baseball.

The Miracle League of Long Island’s mission is to establish and sustain baseball programs for people (of all ages) with disabilities. Our objective is to provide an opportunity for those individuals to experience the joy and benefits that come from playing our national pastime. Our aims are to help the league’s players develop social skills and increase self esteem, while promoting community support and sponsorship for the league.

The Miracle League of Long Island is a charitable organization that provides a baseball league for children with disabilities. This league is FREE to all players. We host mnay baseball games that have youth athletes volunteer to spend time with the children.

These youth athletes who volunteer are known as our “BUDDY”. This stands for “Because Unbelievable Dedication Deserves YOU!”

Buddies are a vital part of the success of the Miracle League. Each Miracle League player is assigned a buddy for each game. The buddy is there to protect the player from balls, assist the player in batting and running the bases, and to be a friend on and off the field. Buddies receive a Miracle League shirt for their participation.

Once you participate, you see that being a buddy allows you not only to make a difference in a special child’s life, but also to create a positive awareness in yourself. And you’ll find that being a buddy is lots of fun! Please bring a gently worn used coat to the field.

You can learn more at: http://www.mllongisland.com/

We had just over 1,000 athletes volunteer this season at 6 hours per game day. That is 6,000 hours in total of volunteering.

These athletes are Making an Impact!
