About:
Long Island City, N.Y. – The Queens College lacrosse team spent part of last week entrenched in the holiday spirit, by donating their time to Housing Works in nearby Long Island City, Queens. This marks the second consecutive year that the lacrosse program participated in the charity.
The team organized and donated clothing at the Housing Works warehouse. The hard work the girls put in saved the organization time and helped them get items ready to be sold in their thrift stores throughout New York City. Current team members reflected on the day as a “… rewarding experience. This was the second year we did it and I got a lot out of it both times. It’s nice to know we helped out people in our very own community.”
Housing Works is a healing community of people living with HIV/AIDS. Their mission is to end the dual crises of homelessness and AIDS through relentless advocacy, the provision of lifesaving services and entrepreneurial businesses that sustain our efforts.
