About:

Sachem North Varsity and JV Arrowettes at the Breast Cancer Awareness Walk at Dowling

Dowling College partnered with the American Cancer Society for the first annual Eastern Long Island American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. The walk was designed to help the caring people of Long Island raise funds for the American Cancer Society.

The event was more than just a walk, it was a place for the community to talk about past experiences and to help educate those who have never been affected by cancer. It is also a place for survivors to celebrate their triumph and for families to come together for an important causeSince 1993, nearly 7 million walkers have raised more than $400 million to help fight breast cancer through participation in these noncompetitive, three to five mile events which are held all across the United States.
