About:
The Clyde-Savannah Girls Volleyball program turned teamwork into community impact, raising $3,364 for the Lipson Cancer Institute during its annual Community Service Night on October 24.
The event, held in partnership with Palmyra-Macedon Volleyball, brought together players, families, and local businesses in a shared effort to support cancer awareness and treatment.
The idea for the fundraiser was inspired by senior volleyball player Julia Rockwell, who created the event in 2023 after seeing the football program’s annual Pink Out night. “I believed our community would rally behind its people,” Rockwell shared. “When everything was uncertain and everyone else was saying pass him off, Lipson slowed down and said, ‘We’ll figure it out.’ I’m forever grateful for the care they gave my dad, and I hope what we raise can help save someone else’s life like they did my dad’s.”
Varsity Head Coach Allison expressed deep appreciation for the community’s involvement, saying, “This event shows the heart of Clyde-Savannah, our athletes, families, and local businesses all came together for something bigger than the game.”
The Clyde-Savannah Athletic Department is proud of the volleyball program for its leadership and dedication to service, proving once again that the Golden Eagles soar highest when giving back to their community.
