About:
BROOKVILLE, N.Y. (Oct. 27, 2015) – The LIU Post women’s lacrosse team recently gathered donations for the town of Charleston, S.C., which was devastated by massive flooding in early October.
The flooding and subsequent dam breaks that hit South Carolina totaled up to over $1 billion in damages.
In an effort to help clean up and re-build the area, the student-athletes each donated $2 and shipped supplies, such as toiletries, clothing and boxed food.
“Some of us have family and friends down there that were affected, and we could certainly relate to that feeling from the effects of Hurricane Sandy,” said LIU Post women’s lacrosse senior Jessica Marsh (Sayville, N.Y.). “Our team realized that a little bit of help can go a long way when we all come together.”
