About:

Brooklyn, N.Y. – The Adelphi University women’s soccer team donated their time to a community service opportunity at the Aviator Sports and Events Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The squad teamed up with The Lady of Grace Soccer Program in Howard Beach in coordination with the New York Cosmos, the St. Francis College men’s soccer program and New York Families for Autistic Children (NYFAC) to provide a day of soccer fun and training for the area’s autistic children.

“Helping out at an event like this is truly rewarding for both the coaches and our student-athletes,” said Head Coach Chris Armas. “We were able to meet some really great people in those attending the event and assisting as well.”

The NYFAC is recognized as a worldwide leader in the development of training materials for professionals working with children diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. To learn more about the organization, click here.
