About:
The LIU Post men’s and women’s lacrosse teams hosted a Wounded Warrior Game in conjunction with the Wounded Warrior Project on Saturday, Mar. 8.
The day will feature a men’s and women’s lacrosse doubleheader, with the men taking on UDC at 11 a.m., followed by the women squaring off against Southern New Hampshire at 1:30 p.m.
“It is an honor to be able to support our American heroes,” Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach John Jez (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) said. “To give back to these individuals for all they have done for our country is the least we can do for their service. We hope to continue this event annually, to show how much their sacrifice means to our programs. We are hopeful that this inaugural event lays the foundation for future ones.”
The Wounded Warrior Project representatives will have a tent set up where they will be selling merchandise with all proceeds benefiting the project. The revenue from the ticket sales will also go towards the organization.
The Wounded Warrior Project was set up to raise awareness and enlist the public’s aid for the needs of injured service members, to help injured service members aid and assist each other, and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members.
