Community Impact Awards 2025
EVENT OVERVIEW
On the evening of May 29, 2025, the Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame (SSHOF) and Team Up 4 Community (TU4C) proudly shared an inaugural moment to recognize exceptional student-athletes making a difference beyond the field. The night marked the launch of a meaningful new partnership to celebrate community service among Suffolk County’s youth athletes.
A NEW ANNUAL TRADITION
Each year, two student-athletes will be honored at a Suffolk Sports Hall of Fame event for their leadership, sportsmanship, and community impact. Honorees will receive a scholarship and commemorative plaque as part of the annual celebration.
2025 HONOREES

KATE GIRONDA
Girls Varsity Swim Team, Ward Melville High School
Kate exemplifies leadership and patriotism through her work with the Bob Feller Act of Valor Foundation. Over 18 months, she organized the “Run for Valor,” drawing 215 runners and raising over $12,000 to support veterans’ therapy and emotional wellness programs.
ROWAN GOLUB
Varsity Baseball Team, Ward Melville High School
Rowan devoted over 60 volunteer hours this year, inlcuding his work at the Three Village Historical Society where he connected others to Revolutionary War history. His additional work included preparing meals for veterans, assembling holiday donation boxes, and supporting animal shelters through craft projects.
