Next Tuesday, October 15 we also have a dig pink game that we are raising funds for breast cancer awareness.
We have pink tie-dye T-shirts that say Yorktown Volleyball, the girls like to wear pink laces in their sneakers. And we represent pink for the whole month of October. The girls have talked to their parents about getting donations. The school does not want the coaches or the students asking for money so the parents do it. Last year we raised $2700.
We have a few close to home cancer loved ones. I have my dear friend who passed away three years ago of breast cancer, I have a player whose grandmother just passed away last year, and we have other close friends and family members of Players who are connected to those struggling with breast cancer currently.
