Smithtown field hockey student-athletes had fun playing for a good cause. More than $1,000 was raised on Oct. 1 during the high schools’ 24th annual Diane Corey Memorial field hockey contest.
Played at Smithtown High School West, East and West field hockey teams went head-to-head in a scrimmage in memory of Corey, a three-sport athlete who enjoyed all sports during her career at Smithtown High School.
A scholarship is awarded annually to students from Smithtown East and West field hockey teams, based on their talents on the field, and contributions to the community and to their team.
