About:
The Schalmont Boys Soccer Team once again took their teamwork beyond the field, joining together to raise awareness and funds in support of the fight against breast cancer.
Each year, the team hosts a Pink Game to honor those affected by breast cancer, wearing pink uniforms and collecting donations at the gate. This year’s game took place on October 7 against Albany Academy, with players, coaches, and fans showing their support for the cause through every serve, save, and goal.
The team’s efforts didn’t stop there. On October 19, 16 of the 18 Varsity players took part in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk in Albany, dedicating 2–3 hours to walking in solidarity with survivors, families, and community members. Through their collective efforts, the Schalmont program raised over $700 for Making Strides of Albany, helping fund research, patient care, and advocacy.
The event gave the athletes an opportunity to reflect on the power of unity and compassion. By walking together and playing with purpose, they demonstrated that leadership isn’t just about what happens during the game, it’s about using their platform to inspire hope and make a difference.
The Schalmont Boys Soccer Team continues to be a shining example of how student-athletes can make a lasting impact in their community, one step, one game, and one act of kindness at a time.
