The Burlington High School Girls Volleyball Team, led by coach Wingsze, hosted their annual Spike Out Cancer event, raising an impressive $6,400 to support the American Cancer Society.
Now in its fourth year, the event has become a cherished community tradition — bringing together students, families, and local businesses in the fight against cancer. Each year, the team sells t-shirts and raffle tickets, with all raffle prizes generously donated by community members and local sponsors.
Thanks to the ongoing support of caring local companies, many of these donations have been matched, amplifying the team’s overall contribution and impact.
The event once again showcased Burlington’s powerful sense of community, teamwork, and compassion — proving that when athletes unite for a cause, their impact extends far beyond the court.
