For the second year in a row, the Harrison High School Varsity Football team teamed up with Backyard Sports Caresto make a meaningful impact in their community—this time by helping special needs athletes conquer new heights at the Boundless Adventures Climbing Course.
Approximately 26 of the team’s 30 varsity players volunteered, each pairing up with a special needs athlete to climb and travel throughout the course. Over the span of about three hours, the Huskies encouraged, supported, and celebrated their partners every step of the way—some even staying longer to ensure everyone had the chance to finish their journey.
Head Coach Jay Ciraco reflected on the importance of the event, sharing:
“Involving the team in any community service event is an opportunity to instill important life lessons that extend beyond sports. It’s a chance to teach athletes that success isn’t only measured by victories, but by how they contribute to the well-being of others. This was an opportunity to continue to build team unity and culture as we worked with special needs athletes.”
The event was not only a success in fostering compassion and teamwork but also in strengthening the bond between athletes and their community. Through initiatives like this, the Harrison Football program continues to prove that leadership, empathy, and service are at the core of what it means to be a Husky.
Congratulations to Harrison Football for another incredible year of giving back — showing that in #HuskyCountry, teamwork truly knows no limits.
