About:
The Lynbrook High School Football Program once again proved that their strength extends far beyond the field.
On Friday night, the team hosted a truly meaningful game dedicated to supporting two of their youngest and toughest local heroes who are courageously battling cancer. The event was about more than football, it was about unity, compassion, and community.
Guided by the motto “No man is an island,” the entire Lynbrook community came together in a powerful show of support. Players, families, and fans stood side by side to raise funds and awareness, reminding everyone that no one has to fight alone.
Special thanks to Commissioner Pat Ryder for his inspiring words, the Lynbrook PBA and Sergeant Palladino for their generous support, and the Mounted Unit of Nassau County for leading the team onto the field and to victory.
In total, all 42 players participated, supported by 20 volunteers, collecting over 50 pounds of candy and raising nearly $5,000 to help two members of the Lynbrook community in their fight against cancer.
This incredible event captures the very essence of what sports are all about , teamwork, resilience, and heart.
