About:
The John Jay Cheerleading program started their season by giving back to the community they love. Athletes came together to collect and donate school supplies for families in need, helping local students start the year prepared and confident. This initiative reflected the team’s strong commitment to leadership, kindness, and school spirit both on and off the mat.
That same spirit of compassion continued into Homecoming, where the team helped lead a powerful evening of remembrance and support. On Friday, October 10, the community came together for the annual Pink Out Game, a special night dedicated to honoring loved ones who have battled cancer and remembering those we’ve lost.
During the game, the team hosted a Bow and Bake Sale fundraiser, with all proceeds benefiting the Brielle Grace Breast Cancer Foundation.
Personalized pink bows were sold for five dollars each, allowing supporters to honor or remember someone special. The bows were displayed along the football field fence, creating a touching tribute to those impacted by cancer.
The fundraiser saw overwhelming participation, with bows sold both in advance and at the game, turning the stadium into a sea of pink. It was a heartfelt show of unity, strength, and love from the John Jay community.
Together, the John Jay Cheerleaders and the entire school community showed what it truly means to lead with heart on the field, in the stands, and throughout their community.
