The National English Honor Society at Wantagh High School found a meaningful way to combine their love of writing with the spirit of service this Veterans Day. Students penned heartfelt letters to veterans through Operation Gratitude, a nonprofit organization that sends care packages and handwritten messages to those who have served our nation.
Each letter reflected deep appreciation for the sacrifices and courage of America’s heroes, a simple yet powerful way to remind veterans that their service is never forgotten.
This initiative also connects to Wantagh High School’s ongoing partnership with the Gary Sinise Foundation, further strengthening the school community’s commitment to honoring and supporting veterans and their families.
Through words and compassion, these students continue to make a difference proving that gratitude can be one of the most powerful forms of service
