On October 24, the Eastchester Cheerleaders and Dobbs Ferry Football and Cheer programs stood together in a powerful tribute to Coach Kearns, whose compassion, strength, and unwavering spirit left a lasting mark on both communities. The teams joined side by side in an evening filled with love, remembrance, and solidarity — a true reflection of the impact she continues to have on everyone who knew her.
In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, athletes and supporters wore pink not only to raise awareness, but to honor Coach Kearns and all those who are fighting, surviving, or have been lost to breast cancer. Their shared commitment brought deep meaning to the night, transforming the game into a heartfelt celebration of life, courage, and community.
The teams encouraged continued support for Sammy’s memory by uplifting the mission of the American Cancer Society, reminding everyone that the fight against breast cancer requires both awareness and action.
Through unity, compassion, and collective purpose, Eastchester and Dobbs Ferry showed that athletics is at its best when it brings people together .
