About:
Commack Middle School students are putting leadership into action this holiday season. On Thursday morning, members of the CMS Student Government gathered to pack donated food items destined for Island Harvest and local families in need.
The student leaders set an ambitious goal — to collect 1,100 pounds of food — and rallied their school community to make it happen. Students, families, and staff contributed generously throughout the drive, helping stock boxes with a wide range of items to support neighbors facing food insecurity.
The final weigh-in will take place next week when Island Harvest arrives for the official pickup, just in time for Thanksgiving. No matter the final number, the dedication, teamwork, and compassion shown by these young leaders are already making a meaningful impact.
Commack Middle School continues to demonstrate what service, empathy, and community-minded leadership look like in action. Amazing work, CMS Student Government!
