The SL Athletics community came together on December 17 for a meaningful night of basketball and giving back, as the SL Girls Basketball team hosted Whitman-Hanson while collecting toys for families in need.
In lieu of a game ticket, fans were encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy, turning the home game into a festive holiday toy drive. The response from the Laker community was overwhelming, with students, families, and supporters generously donating to help make the season brighter for others.
Student-athletes played an active role in promoting the initiative and welcoming fans, demonstrating how athletics can be a powerful platform for service and community engagement. The event highlighted the spirit of generosity and togetherness that defines SL Athletics.
This special game was a reminder that when a community comes together, the impact reaches far beyond the court.
