About:
The Irish lacrosse program brought its commitment to service to life by volunteering at the Rosemount Adaptive Pickleball Tournament, demonstrating what it truly means to give back to the community.
Student-athletes dedicated their time to supporting participants, assisting with event operations, and helping create an inclusive, welcoming environment for athletes of all abilities. Their involvement was essential to the success of the tournament and underscored the values of inclusion, teamwork, and compassion.
This service opportunity reflected the culture within the Irish lacrosse program—one that emphasizes leadership and community impact alongside athletic achievement. By stepping up to support adaptive athletics, the players showed that service is a core part of who they are, both on and off the field.
Hosted at Hope Fieldhouse in Rosemount, the tournament was designed for local residents with Down syndrome, ages 16–35. Irish lacrosse players served as partners, teammates, and coaches throughout the event, forming meaningful connections along the way. The experience left a lasting impression on everyone involved, with smiles and moments that the players will not soon forget.
