About:
Danvers Girls Basketball officially opened the season on December 12 with a home matchup against Marblehead, but the excitement extended well beyond the court with the team’s 2nd Annual Winter Coat Drive.
Fans attending the JV game at 5:00 p.m. or the varsity contest at 6:30 p.m. were encouraged to bring a new or gently used winter coat to donate. As an added incentive, those who donated received free admission—putting more money back in their pockets for the snack bar while supporting a meaningful cause.
This annual initiative highlights Danvers Girls Basketball’s commitment to giving back, using game day as an opportunity to support community members in need during the winter months. By combining competition with compassion, the program continues to show how athletics can make a positive impact off the court.
Through generosity and teamwork, Danvers Girls Basketball once again demonstrated that game days are about more than wins and losses—they’re about coming together as a community and helping others stay warm this winter.
