About:
The West Seneca West Warhawks Boys Basketball program demonstrated the power of athletics to connect, inspire, and give back through its Annual West vs. East Coaches vs. Cancer game.
This special event brought together Modified, JV, and Varsity student-athletes, creating an environment where older players could support and encourage younger Warhawks while rallying around an important cause. The game highlighted not only competition on the court, but also mentorship, unity, and shared purpose across all levels of the program.
By participating in Coaches vs. Cancer, the Warhawks used basketball as a platform to raise awareness and show support for those impacted by cancer. Events like this reinforce how school athletics can extend beyond wins and losses to teach empathy, leadership, and responsibility to the broader community.
The Annual West vs. East Coaches vs. Cancer game continues to be a meaningful tradition for West Seneca West, showcasing the strength of its basketball program and the positive impact student-athletes can make when they come together for a cause bigger than the game.
