About:
The LS Girls Basketball program combined community connection and purpose on game day by hosting a special Youth Night and Cancer Awareness/Fundraiser event during their matchup against C-C.
The evening welcomed younger players into the gym, giving them the opportunity to cheer on the program and feel part of the larger LS basketball family. Alongside Youth Night, the team dedicated the game to raising awareness and support for cancer-related causes, encouraging fans to wear purple in solidarity.
The night featured a JV game at 4:30 PM, followed by Varsity at 6:00 PM, creating an energetic and meaningful atmosphere both on and off the court. Student-athletes, coaches, and supporters worked together to make the event impactful, showing how athletics can bring people together around causes that matter.
By combining youth engagement with cancer awareness, LS Girls Hoops demonstrated leadership, compassion, and a strong commitment to community service. Events like this highlight the positive influence student-athletes can have when they use their platform to inspire, connect, and give back.
This initiative reflects the values behind community service through athletics—using teamwork, visibility, and heart to make a difference beyond the scoreboard.
