About:
Sweet Home Girls Basketball continued a meaningful varsity tradition by partnering with the Buffalo Wheelchair Club for a night centered on inclusion, connection, and community impact.
By taking part in wheelchair basketball, Sweet Home student-athletes stepped into a new perspective—one that highlighted the importance of accessibility and equal opportunity in sports. The experience allowed players to engage directly with members of the wheelchair basketball community while gaining a deeper appreciation for adaptive athletics and inclusive recreation.
More than just a fun and educational experience, the event reinforced a powerful message: sports are for everyone. Through teamwork, shared learning, and mutual respect, the night demonstrated how athletics can break down barriers and bring communities together.
Sweet Home’s continued commitment to this tradition reflects the program’s dedication to leadership beyond competition. By helping make their community more inclusive, Sweet Home Girls Basketball showed that the true impact of a team is measured not only in wins, but in the lives they touch.
