About:
The Sachem Schools community once again showed what it means to come together for a cause, as this year’s Sachem Polar Plunge team raised more than $35,000 in support of Special Olympics.
Braving icy waters and winter temperatures, participants took on the Polar Plunge with enthusiasm, purpose, and heart—demonstrating that service sometimes means stepping far outside your comfort zone. Their efforts directly support opportunities for athletes with intellectual disabilities, helping to promote inclusion, confidence, and community through sports.
Beyond the impressive fundraising total, the event highlighted something even more meaningful: the spirit of generosity and unity that defines the Sachem community. From participants and organizers to donors and supporters, the Polar Plunge reflected a shared commitment to making a difference.
As Sachem Schools proudly noted, there are truly incredible people who work, live, and give back within this community. The success of the Polar Plunge serves as a powerful reminder that when people come together around a shared mission, the impact can be felt far beyond a single day—or a single splash.
