About:
Student-athletes from Bay Shore High School recently celebrated the spirit of inclusion and teamwork by hosting a special March Madness Day of Basketball for their Unified Basketball program.
Held at the district’s UPK Center, the event brought together athletes, students, and staff for a day filled with energy, encouragement, and fun on the court. Unified sports programs provide opportunities for students of all abilities to compete together, building friendships and promoting an inclusive school community.
The day’s success was made possible through the dedication and leadership of several staff members who helped organize the event, including Ms. Houlihan, Mr. and Ms. Brady, and Ms. Dobbs. Their efforts created a meaningful and memorable experience for the student-athletes who participated.
Events like this highlight how athletics can unite students, celebrate inclusion, and create opportunities for everyone to experience the joy of sports. The Bay Shore Unified Basketball team continues to demonstrate that when students support one another, the entire school community benefits.
The March Madness celebration was more than just a day of basketball—it was a reminder that sports have the power to bring people together and create lasting memories both on and off the court.
