Harborfields Student Anderson Howe Making a Global Impact Through Service

At Harborfields High School, student Anderson Howe is demonstrating how dedication, compassion, and leadership can create meaningful change both locally and around the world.

Over the past five years, Anderson has devoted countless hours to serving children in Zambia through his work with Family Legacy, an organization that supports vulnerable children by providing education, healthcare, and basic necessities. His commitment has taken him to Zambia five times, where he has worked directly with children and families to build relationships and provide support.

One of Anderson’s most significant contributions has been helping to establish Wondersprout Academy, a school founded by his family that now serves over 300 students. The academy provides education, mentorship, and resources to help children build brighter futures.

In addition to supporting the school’s mission, Anderson has helped manage key administrative tasks, including maintaining records related to student health and academic progress. Recognizing that many students lack electricity in their homes, Anderson and his family also launched a Solar Light Initiative, providing solar-powered lights so students can read and study after sunset.

Beyond his international service work, Anderson is also a leader within the Harborfields school community. As President of Athletes Helping Athletes, he promotes mentorship and positive decision-making among younger students while encouraging leadership and sportsmanship across the school.

He has also supported important causes through community initiatives, including organizing a Color Run benefiting Corey’s Promise, which raises awareness and funds for families affected by pediatric cancer.

Through his commitment to service, Anderson continues to inspire those around him by showing how one person’s passion and leadership can create lasting impact. His efforts reflect the values of empathy, responsibility, and community engagement that define the spirit of Harborfields High School.
