About:
Students from Portledge School recently came together to celebrate World Read Aloud Day by sharing the joy of reading with the school’s youngest learners.
Upper School students visited Lower School classrooms, where they read stories aloud and helped bring books to life for younger students. The visits created a warm and engaging atmosphere as the older students sparked curiosity, encouraged imagination, and fostered a love of reading.
The experience also helped build meaningful connections across grade levels, allowing younger students to interact with older peers who served as positive role models. Through storytelling and shared learning, students were reminded of the powerful role reading plays in building community and inspiring lifelong learning.
Events like this highlight the strong sense of connection within the Portledge School community, where students support and encourage one another while celebrating the power of books to bring people together.
