About:
Student-athletes from John F. Kennedy High School in Bellmore are once again giving back to their community through their continued partnership with Merrick Bellmore Little League.
Annually, the program brings together high school baseball and softball players who volunteer their time to help coach and mentor younger athletes during youth clinics. The initiative provides younger players with the opportunity to learn new skills while interacting with high school student-athletes who serve as positive role models.
Approximately 30 Kennedy baseball and softball players are volunteering their time throughout the program, contributing nearly 12 hours of service over the month to support the clinics.
During each session, the high school athletes work with the younger players on fundamental skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship, helping build confidence and excitement for the game.
Beyond improving baseball and softball skills, the clinics strengthen the connection between the high school and local youth programs, reinforcing the importance of mentorship and community involvement.
Through their continued participation, the student-athletes from John F. Kennedy High School demonstrate how athletics can serve as a platform for leadership, service, and positive community
