About:
The Falmouth Clippers Boys Hockey team recently demonstrated that leadership and teamwork extend far beyond the rink, as players spent time volunteering at Tommy’s Place, a vacation home designed to provide joy and respite for children battling cancer and their families.
Bundled up against winter conditions, the student-athletes grabbed shovels and got to work clearing snow and helping maintain the property. Their efforts ensured that the welcoming space remains safe, accessible, and ready for the families who rely on Tommy’s Place for comfort, hope, and unforgettable memories.
Service opportunities like this highlight the powerful role student-athletes can play in their communities. By giving their time and energy, the Clippers not only supported an important local organization but also strengthened team bonds while learning the value of compassion, responsibility, and community engagement.
Tommy’s Place continues to be sustained by the dedication of volunteers and supporters, and the Falmouth Hockey program’s willingness to step up reflects the spirit of service that makes a lasting impact. Their actions serve as a reminder that even small acts—like lending a hand after a snowstorm—can make a meaningful difference in others’ lives.
