About:
In a powerful display of friendship, remembrance, and community impact, members of the 2001 Mendon Girls Basketball team recently reunited to honor teammate, Holly Haefner.
Through their collective efforts, the group successfully raised more than $16,000 in support of The Healing Connection, a Rochester-based treatment center that provides care and support for individuals facing eating disorders. The fundraiser not only paid tribute to Holly’s legacy but also helped bring greater awareness to the importance of mental health and access to treatment resources.
The event highlighted the lasting bonds formed through high school athletics, showing how teams can continue to make a difference long after their playing days have ended. Alumni, community members, and supporters came together to contribute to a meaningful cause, demonstrating the powerful ripple effect of teamwork, compassion, and shared purpose.
Initiatives like this serve as an inspiring reminder that the values learned through sports — leadership, resilience, and giving back — can continue to shape lives and strengthen communities for years to come.
