About:
Sachem Ice Hockey is once again stepping up to support a meaningful cause by participating in the 3rd Annual JB96 Frozen 5K, a community event dedicated to honoring the memory and legacy of former player Jeff Bausch.
Held at Clark Gillies Arena at the Dix Hills Ice Rink, the evening brings together teammates, families, and community members for a night of skating, remembrance, and connection. Jeff was remembered not only for his contributions on the ice but also for his kindness, humor, and the way he made others feel valued — qualities that continue to inspire those who knew him.
Proceeds from the event help support several important initiatives, including the Jeff Bausch Unsung Hero Award, the Aspiring Content Creator Scholarship, and direct support for the Bausch family. By encouraging participation through skating, cheering, or donating, Sachem Ice Hockey is helping ensure that Jeff’s impact continues to be felt throughout the community.
Events like the JB96 Frozen 5K highlight the powerful role athletics can play in bringing people together during times of remembrance while also creating opportunities to give back. Through leadership and service, Sachem student-athletes continue to demonstrate how sports can strengthen community bonds and keep meaningful legacies alive.
