About:
Student-athletes at Patchogue-Medford High School are being encouraged to make an impact beyond their teams this spring through a creative initiative led by their Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
The SAAC Spring Points Challenge, running throughout April, promotes team bonding, school spirit, and most importantly—community service. Teams can earn points by participating in activities such as hosting themed practices, supporting fellow athletic programs, and spending time together off the field.
At the heart of the initiative is a strong emphasis on giving back, with teams encouraged to complete a community service project together. By incorporating service into the challenge, SAAC is helping student-athletes recognize the importance of leadership and impact beyond competition.
This initiative not only strengthens team culture, but also reinforces the role student-athletes play as leaders within their school and community. Through programs like this, Pat-Med continues to build a culture where service, connection, and school pride go hand in hand.
