About:
The Agawam Volleyball program continues to demonstrate the true impact of education-based athletics—giving back to their community while helping grow the game they love.
During April break, the team hosted a free youth volleyball clinic for local students in grades 6–8, welcoming both boys and girls for a morning of skill-building, mentorship, and fun. Led by current players and coaches, the clinic provided young athletes with hands-on instruction while creating a welcoming and supportive environment for all participants.
The event was a great success, with strong turnout and enthusiastic participation from young players eager to learn and improve their skills. Beyond the drills and gameplay, what stood out most was the connection between the high school athletes and the next generation—serving as role models and leaders within their community.
The impact didn’t stop there. Many of the participating families planned to return the following day to support the team, showcasing how initiatives like this strengthen school spirit and community pride.
With plans already in motion for a summer camp through Agawam Parks & Recreation, the program is continuing to build momentum and expand opportunities for youth engagement.
This clinic is a great example of how student-athletes can lead, inspire, and make a meaningful difference beyond the court.
