About:
The West Genesee High School baseball program took the field for more than just competition during its recent Mental Health Awareness Game against Baldwinsville High School.
With both JV and Varsity teams participating, the Wildcats dedicated the day to raising awareness for student-athlete mental health while supporting the mission of Morgan’s Message, an organization committed to eliminating the stigma surrounding mental health within the athletic community.
By using their platform to promote conversation and awareness, the team helped emphasize the importance of checking in on one another, encouraging open dialogue, and reminding athletes that mental health is just as important as physical health.
Mental Health Awareness games continue to create meaningful opportunities for school communities to come together in support of students both on and off the field. Through leadership, advocacy, and teamwork, West Genesee Baseball demonstrated that athletics can play a powerful role in supporting wellness and creating positive change.
